We started to knock down walls and rip carpet up when I got the brainy idea to start a blog for this project. As most of you know, we have this In-Law suite that is going to be turned into an Entertainment suite connected to the main house. Ironicly, my In-Laws came down this weekend to help with the demo. Here is a shot looking into the hallway from the old kitchen. All the drywall in the old kitchen is gone.
Here is a another shot from the old kitchen looking into the bathroom. You can see a brick support on the right side. We are not going to dry wall these supports. We are going to keep them exposed for a loft-y feel. If it dates itself in the future, we can always drywall over it.
Anyone remember the spiffy avacado green shower surround? Here's whats left. Pick any beam and you will find wood rot. Awesome.
Another picture of the bathroom. The four of us were able to get the shower suround out of there and have a good laugh. We did come up with a good idea, we are going to extend the bathroom 14" to the left of this picture to allow for a proper sink and a claw foot tub.
Here is what will become of the study. The demo for this was crazy! Two layers of drywall and this stuff called "Lipson board" that is the equivalent of super strong cardboard. It took 4 of us half a day to get it down. The brick in the left corner is another foundation support for the house. This is going to be exposed when the re-no is complete.
This last pic is Capt. Dork and the In-Laws. Yes, we now all have our place on the web. How's that for technology Mrs. C!?!?Bear with me for a bit as I figure this blogging thing out and make this a really cool site for Team B's.
