The meaning of screwed.

The city of Tulsa, Oklahoma buried a brand-new '57 Plymouth Belevedere under Main Street in 1957, thinking that it had timeless styling which would endure another half a century and still look fresh. They wiped the car down with grease, covered it in wax paper and canvas, and lowered the Plymouth into a concrete vault, where it sat unmoved until today.

In preparation for the car's unveiling this Friday, the committee opened the vault and found... water. Lots of rusty, muddy water. This bodes poorly for the old Mopar, since '57 Chryslers were notoriously rust-prone, as they were made from the cheapest sheet steel that the company could buy, and they were also the first year for unitized body construction, none of which was galvanized.

This was taken from my favorite website The Car Lounge. More images can be found here.
